Easier said than done, since she is not at all accustomed to the way of living of the Indians...
3 | Beau de jager (Beau the hunter) |
The countess, or rather, Waving Feather, is living with Old Beaver, who adopted her. She falls in love with his son, Beau, but he prefers men. The Onondaga's, where she used to live, come and kidnap her, as revenge for her humiliating one of their warriors. Beau comes to the rescue...
4 | God noch duivel (God nor devil) |
Waving Feather's father is waiting to be hanged, the price for her freedom. An old friend, Germain, manages to get through the British blockade and enter the colony. His clumsy ways and his misinterpretation of the situation between her and Beau grant him a place next to her father at the gallow. Legend has it that her father will be rescued by a thunderstorm, and for that reason Indians come from very far to be there. But it's just a legend, isn't it? |

1 | Wyoming Doll | This is one of the most beautiful stories I ever read in comic-form. I was deeply
touched when I read it the first time, and that hasn't changed the
second time. A strong story, I really recommend this one. A group of settlers is attacked by indians. Only two people survive, a young man and a grandfather. They bury the dead, and discover there are two girls missing, the Irish Sharon and the Italian Lucia. The young man takes it upon him to find them back. His path crosses that of Salmon Leap, a lone Sioux, who has rescued Sharon from the Pawnee. What now? What to do with Sharon? What with their own lives? |
