Largo Winch - Last - Lefranc - Leonardo - Léo Tomasini - Lester Cockney - Lotusbloem - Luc Orient - Luka

Largo Winch
(by Francq & Van Hamme)
See also: Comic Errors

Largo Winch is a popular series, and that's no surprise.  A charming main character, a perfect blend of upper class jet set environments and lots of action - without too much blood.  Sexy women - without too much nudity.  Interesting personalities, credible environments, in short, an entertaining series for all that don't expect too much depth.

Nr. Cover Title Story
1 Cover Largo Winch De erfgenaam
(The heir)
Nerio Winch, number one of the "Group W", one of the largest multinationals in the world, is murdered.  He was the largest shareholder, so with his death the group would fall apart.  But he has foreseen that, and has an adopted son, Largo, who now has to be found and brought to the US, to take up the position Nerio had.  Even though this was kept very secret, someone has figured it out and is trying hard to take control over Largo...
2 Cover Largo Winch Groep W
(Group W)
Largo has shown up in New York.  Right before his first Big Board he gets information indicating that what happened to him in Turkey was an independent act of some officials, but they were initiated by someone who is after Largo, or at least, his money.  Well, that doesn't really surprise Largo.  But it is someone from the absolute top, someone from the Big Board he is attending now.  Well, to prevent anyone from taking what he has inherited, he has to go to Liechtenstein.  Right now.  But is "right now" fast enough to beat his opponent...?
3 Cover Largo Winch O.O.B
(?)
"The Green archer" kills a millionaire, right next to Largo.  This triggers a whole plan to take control over Fenico, in which the deceased had a minority participation.  Largo feels he is drawn into it, even though every nerve in his body tells him things are going too smooth, there is a trap and he's walking in it with his eyes wide open...
4 Cover Largo Winch Business Blues Just a few hours before Group W takes control over Fenico, the I.R.S. seizes the funds needed to finalize the transaction.  In other words, from one minute to the other Group W is in financial trouble, and one of the members of the board of directors attempts a suicide.  Things look pretty dark, but after the death of "The Green Archer" Largo starts to suspect something.  He breaks in into the headquarters of Fenico...
5 Cover Largo Winch H During the opening reception of a new hotel of group W the "surprise du chef" is a real surprise: the head of a man is part of it.  This is the start of a web of intrigues that is aimed at making everyone believe Largo is the head of his own heroine smuggling organization...
6 Cover Largo Winch Dutch Connection The police finds more and more evidence for Largo's involvement in the drug-affair.  And while Simon gets involved with the cute Marjan, he keeps looking for Largo.  Meanwhile Largo is collecting the pieces of the puzzle, partly by breaking in into Group W's own computer system.  While the case is getting more clear to him, he is building up his plan to solve things his way...
7 Cover Largo Winch De burcht van Makiling
(The castle of Makiling)
Marjan and Simon are enjoying a holiday in Myanmar, the former Birma.  During a so-called routine-check by the police a struggle is provoked, and Simon kills a man.  For this crime he is condemned to death, and Marjan is expelled.  In the US she meets the man who has so-called been killed, but he gets murdered before he can testify.  This leads Largo to stop his diplomatic efforts to get Simon free, and start another effort...
8 Cover Largo Winch Het uur van de tijger
(The hour of the tiger)
Largo arrives in Rangoon, and has a meeting with an organization, as secret as it is clandestine.  He asks and gets the help he will need, but to what price?  So the rescue-plan is being executed, and with success, it seems.  Still, something is not as it should...
9 Cover Largo Winch Venetië zien...
(To see Venice...)
A man is chased through a sleeping Venice.  He runs for his life, followed by shooting men.  He breaks a window, manages to send a fax, and is killed.  The fax was sent to Group W, for the attention of Largo.  The text: watch out for the doge.  And that message is enough for another man to kill two girls to get that fax before it gets to Largo.  But he gets the message...
10 Cover Largo Winch ...en sterven
(...and die)
The Venetian police suspects Largo of being involved in all the bloodshed, and Largo suspects a duke who is called the Doge.  Tyler's death rises even more questions, and the only solution is to venture into the lion's den: the doge's bal masqué.  But is the doge really the lion in this game?
11 Cover Largo Winch Golden Gate Simon is starring in a TV-series.  No big deal, but the financial structure behind the series is a bit suspect.  Largo tries to convince Simon, but he just thinks Largo is jealous.  So largo tries to find out how the financing mechanisms behind it are set up.  Easier said than done...
12 Cover Largo Winch Shadow Largo gets out of jail on bail, and that gives him the opportunity to try to see the big picture.  He kidnaps Juliet Ferguson for her own safety, and that triggers a series of murders by the people of Panatella, who wants to get rid of everyone involved that knows too much.  It starts with the people from the TV company that were in the plot, it ends with them capturing Largo...
13 Cover Largo Winch De prijs van het geld
(The price of the money)
The manager of one of the companies in Group W, a company that was not doing well and of which important parts are being transferred to Eastern Europe to reduce the costs, commits suicide in a live TV show where Largo is a guest as well.  Largo hears about the former assistant-accountant who claims that the numbers Group W received do not represent the true situation of the company.  But before she can give details she is murdered, and Largo is the prime suspect...
14 Cover Largo Winch De wet van de dollar
(The law of the dollar)
Largo is chased by the law, and he wouldn't have survived it if it wasn't for a last minute rescue mission by his last remaining friends.  Time to strike back.  In disguise he scrutinizes Speed One's accounting.  Two things are clear: these are not the true figures, and someone will be benefitting impressively from the recovering shares of the company.  Which means that most likely this has been carefully planned.  Maybe a little provocation may reveal what happened to the real accounting data...

Last
(by Gine & Convard)

This was a one-time shot, that has a remarkable resemblance to Finkel.  It was supposed to be the first of a series, but it seems that it was abandoned in favor of Finkel.  Not a bad choice, in my opinion.

Nr. Cover Title Story

(The theory of the crab)
Last, a sea trader, finds a boat with a dieing man on board.  In his last moments he says something about then Eastern Island, the only known place where Breath of Life is made out of algae.  Moments later Last spots a boat with Shedy people, a sect dedicated to murder.  They're after him, but he defeats them.  They do drop the body of the man he found into the sea.  Later this body is found by fishermen.  They discover that one of his eyes was actually a small camera, and so they see the man's last hours.  And they see things that will change a lot in this world...
