Experience '99-now - Dolmen Computer Applications (Huizingen)
Whitepaper and salestools on "ROSI" (Return On Security Investment)
Launched "Identity Management" as a viable concept we can offer services for.  This includes an internal track containing sales trainings and marketing documents, and already a few successful projects at customers.
Being part of the former Novell-team, I remain responsible for planning, implementing, troubleshooting and support for the Novell-networks of our customers.  Knowing products like ZENworks and technologies like NDS inside out, more and more pure consulting tasks replace the "install another servicepack" part, together with higher level consulting, beyond strictly Novell related issues.

'96-'99 - ICL (Diegem)
The emphasis here was on consulting, no more "replace harddisk".  Though that was still a part of the job.  My responsibilities included the planning and assistance in the strategies for our Novell customers, and also the implementation of the results of that design and planning phase.
During more than 2 years, of which one continuous period of 18 months, I worked at Eurocontrol's helpdesk.  First as a helpdesk agent (general problem solving), later as a team leader (staff: 4, users: 800).

'92-'96 - DV8 Computer Solutions (Asse)
DV8 was an authorized Compaq and Novell dealer, and I was responsible for the technical part. But given the size, the job was mostly technical, and very little administrative.  I handled repairs and installations and so, but also the setup and maintenance of a Notes 3 system (2 international sites) and our internal network.

'90-'92 - ICM (Dendermonde)
At ICM I was the technical department at first, so I handled everything from pre-sales support via installations an trainings to repairs and follow-up, of just about any product they sold.

'89-'90 - MSS (Sint Niklaas) - warehousing, troubleshoot&repair Compaq PC's
'87-'89 - unemployed
'86-'87 - 't Croissanske (Sint Niklaas) - assistant baker
'85-'86 - Willy Verhoeven (Leuven) - assistant building

Programming Languages
-MS Visual Basic 3-4-6 (just for basic tools, or database access, I'm definitely not an experienced programmer)
-HTML&CSS (not really programming, I know, but where else to fit it in?)
 -Lotus Notes 3

Applications and tools
I have experience (support and usage) with several Office applications, ranging from WordPerfect 4.2 to the latest MS Office 2000 or OpenOffice.  Also various drawing applications (like CorelDraw and PhotoShop), DTP (PageMaker), flowcharting (ABC Flowcharter, VISIO), HTML (HomeSite, FrontPage) and so on.
Further, I've installed, used and supported various Novell products, such as GroupWise (4.x - 5.x), NetWare for SAA, NetWare Connect, NIAS, OnDemand, ZENworks for Desktops (1-2-3-4-6.5), ManageWise (2.x), FTP server, Web Server (including Netscape's), Cluster Services and so on.  I'm also familiar with products like ARCserve (4.x - 11), BackupExec (8.x), server-based anti-virus tools etc.
During the various aspects of the job I've become very familiar with NetWare Administrator, Console One and packet sniffing tools, next to various application deployment debugging tools like FileMon or RegMon.

Recent projects  -Meta-Directory Infrastructure: set up an integrated system containing an LDAP infrastructure for secure access to a web-application, and synchronize that directory to a corporate directory, which is used for synchronization of other internal directories.  The goal is to have an experience of only one user-object for the end-user, and ease of management for the administrators.
-NDS Analysis: verify proper health and set-up of an NDS tree as it is now, with recommendations for future extensions, procedures, etc.
-Study for cost reduction using different WAN-techniques: is ADSL, combined with server consolidation really cheaper ánd faster?
-ZENworks full implementation: analysis of NDS impact, analysis of user needs, full documentation of policies and applications, creation of some 80 applications prepared for mobile users.
-Preparation for the European roll-out of a NetWare upgrade.
Skills NetWare and its various tools and additions have not much secrets for me.  I am perfectly capable of both theoretical jobs, like assisting a customer in deciding what their strategy will be in the near future, as in the pure technical part of implementing and tuning those strategies.

Though I'm not a programmer, I am able to create the tools I need, should they not exist or be available, or adapt existing ones.  This includes small customizations to CGI scripts, or use various Visual Basic flavors.

This site is the 4th I make.  Previously I created 2 intranets (Eurocontrol and Dolmen), and the website for my nephew's school.  All graphics on all sites are of my own hand, or enhanced by me.

I'm not the youngest in this field, and that gives me the calmness and maturity to tackle not only technical problems, but also deal with various human behavior in a way that is constructive to the professional relationship.  I'm not the kind that jumps to conclusions, or lets his personal appreciation of somebody color his work.  In stead I (try to (-;) formulate my thoughts, impressions or solutions in such a way that it is both clearly comprehendible and non offensive for anyone.
