Storm over Brest | The Hawk takes control over the fort of Berthaume, the first step in his plan towards the liberation of his men. The greed of two brothers combined with a storm somewhat overthrows that plan though. During the same stormy night Marion gets an unpleasant visit from De Harcouët, and her defense results in her being expelled. And Agnes? Mrs. De Kermellec is wounded, but not lethal, and she outsmarts her attacker. She makes one mistake though... |

While the Medusa makes a detour along to British coast to go and steal a strange barrel, the Hawk has problems of his own. The ship he took is leaking, the pumps aren't working properly, and the women on board make the men nervous, for various reasons. In La Rochelle most of the women decide to return to land despite the risks. Three of the Hawk's crew disappear, so he's forced to take three new men on board before he sails off to Guyana. Once at sea more men disappear... |

De Villeneuve and De La Motte are looking for the wreck of the ship of the old De Kermellec in the river Mahury, while the Hawk is looking for them. By the time the Medusa finds the first evidence they reached the wreck, the Hawk starts moving in on them. When he bumps into Mrs. De Kermellec in the jungle his plans start to take shape... |

The young Lady de Kermellec spends a lot of time in the company of the Hawk who is held captive by de Villeneuve and de la Motte. She hopes to find the location of the treasure in her grandfather's diary, but she forgets it when she and the Hawk escape. This leaves de Villeneuve all the time to draw his own conclusions and start searching. And whe Agnes de Kermellec develops a nasty fever the Hawk has only one priority: bring her back to civilization, to get her the urgently needed medical attention... |
