Seven years have passed, and Jeremy has entered the family and is a small boy now. After a hunt the playful guy took pity on a young wolf, and they are inseparable. But the wolf grows and returns to his natural habitat, and to help overcome Jeremy's grief they decide to pay Chinook's family, the Sioux, a visit. Upon their return however a surprise awaits them... |

Two Black Feet are following a man over the hills, but in the woods he outsmarts them. They know he is around, but the trail is cold. While hunting a mouflon Jeremie finds the man, and decides to help him. Easier said than done for a little boy... |

One day during a hunt Jeremie and Buddy find a badly wounded Indian in the reed near a lake. When he has recovered a bit Grey Cloud tells of a sudden attack of a very aggressive moose. Jeremie proposes to hunt the moose. Chinook warns Buddy and Jeremie, but they feel safe with their rifles... |

Chinook's brother brings bad news about their father, who has asked to see his daughter before he dies. Chinook goes with Jeremie, but Kathleen is too small for the trip and stays behind with Buddy. One day during a hunting trip in the snow Buddy and Kathleen meet a Mexican who wants to revenge his brother by killing the herd of wild horses whose leader has killed the Mexican's brother. Buddy's horse Fellow has ended up among the herd, so he tries to prevent the killing... |

While checking their traps Buddy and Jeremie are attacked by two Black Feet. And a day or so later a small group of Black Feet even attacks their hut. This intrigues Buddy, since they have very good relations with the Black Feet. Kathleen wants to ride her horse, and she has no patience at all. She won't listen when Buddy tells her he needs to train the horse, and one early morning she goes for a ride on her own. But she falls off of the horse and lies half in a river unconscious, until Buddy finds here. She's not hurt, but has a bad fever. Buddy tells her some hunting stories to amuse her... |

Cesar comes to Buddy and his family to ask for help. His granddaughter Katia married Michael, and they were expecting a baby. Michael thought he needed some extra cash, and went to Bear Mountain to dig for gold. He still hasn't returned, but that is not the problem. Katia went looking for Michael, with her two month old daughter, without experience, supplies, a horse,... Buddy agrees to go and look for her, and hopes to find her before the winter comes, which is very soon... |

On their way back home Michael and Buddy meet an army patrol from the fort. The commanding officer, the recently promoted captain Ryan, makes it clear to Buddy that he thinks very low of him for having married a squaw. Ryan's hatred is rooted in tragedy, and the events role on towards another inevitable tragedy... |

De wilde wind (The wild wind) |
A woman and a man in a covered wagon are trying to move forward despite a visibility of almost zero due to a heavy wind that carries a lot of sand. Suddenly they see a large shape; the horses are so frightened they tip over the wagon and run off. In the same storm Buddy looks for a place to shelter. In the morning he discovers he slept at a few meters from the couple, the storm had made it impossible for them to see each other. He helps them catch one horse and turn the wagon upright. Then a lone saddled mule tells of another victim of the storm... |

De zwartrok (Blackrobe) |
Baron, Mariska and Gregor, and Buddy have just managed to cross the river before it gets too wild after the rains, when Mariska's contractions begine. It's a boy. Crees kidnap her, but in exchange for Gregor's violin she can be freed. The Crees come back though, because the only one that can use the violin is Gregor, so they want to exchange it for another present. It does seem as if this is just an excuse though to see if anyone is with them. Who? |

Hooka-Hey | Buddy meets the little wolf he had known when Jeremie was small. The animal travels along with him, but at a certain moment it wants Buddy to turn back. Buddy continues, without the wolf. He meets a group of Sioux which pleases him, they will bring him to Chinook he hopes. They attack and wound him however, and take him to their camp. There he is told he will die tomorrow, together with a captured soldier... |

De laatste afspraak (The last appointment) |
Buddy and Grey Cloud have a strange meeting. An old woman tells them it's about time they came - but that she hadn't seen that Grey Cloud would be there as well. After having taken care of Grey Cloud she tells Buddy that she knows he is the son of "Harold Redhead", a man she knew when she was small. Buddy listens fascinated as he hears the story of his father, who he hasn't seen since he was a child. |

After their reunion Chinook and Buddy spend the winter at her family. In the spring they decide to go look for Jeremie, to become a complete family again. They will do so right after Buddy accompanied the Indians to their newly proposed reservation. Once they are there Buddy is asked to help in capturing mustangs for the army. He accepts, since this will bring him further north, closer to where Jeremie is. But it promises not to be the kind of trip he had imagined... |

Chinook, Kathleen and Buddy return to the fort with a herd of mustangs. They meet a group of Indian warriors, and the situation gets tense, until one of them, Jeremie, recognises his parents. He tells his story, which causes a rather harsh conflict with his parents. The next day Jeremie intends to steal the mustangs, but just then soldiers arrive. Jeremie is shot down... |

Chinook and Buddy help Mariska and Gregor to manage an Indian reservation. One day two men come with a proposal for Gregor. One wants to trade buffalo-skins with the Indians, and wants to give Gregor a part of the profit. Gregor is shocked and refuses. The next day, while leaving the reservation, the man shows he won't take no for an answer that easily... |

Chinook and Buddy decide to leave the reservation, and head back north. It promises to be a travel through their memories. They have only just left when an old Indian they met ages ago can prevent Blackfeet from killing them, and further on they meet Slim One Eye, who is ready to start chasing a bear. The day after they moved on Slim's partners comes looking for their help, Slim hasn't returned from the hunt yet... Touching end to the series. |
